Between Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry

Restaurant Zélie, Voglans, on the shores of Lac du Bourget

In Voglans, in Savoie, between Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry, at the heart of the “Riviera of the Alps,” the Zélie restaurant, moored to Hôtel Miura, stands out as a place for gathering, deeply rooted in local history. Inspired by a marine carpentry workshop, it features raw wood, suspended ropes, and a Beauquis boat like those that once navigated the Alpine lakes.

Agence Amevet took on the challenge of blending contemporary elegance with the spirit of Lake Bourget, playing with transparency, volumes, and openness toward the terrace and the park.

A warm, easy-to-read atmosphere

The decor sets the tone with its blue, green and black monochrome shades, plush banquettes and understated but evocative antiques. The whole forms a coherent visual narrative, never overplayed. The bar, designed as a stopover counter, elegantly extends the nautical theme, blending conviviality, sober lines and a lounge spirit. Volumes are controlled, transitions fluid.

Modularity, privacy, fluidity

Designed to accommodate more than 230 guests over 480 m² (including 100 on the terrace), Zélie emphasizes transitions and breathing space. Semi-open side alcoves house intimate tables for hushed discussions. At the heart of the space, modular tables are ideal for groups, seminars or two-course meals. Wood, metal, glass, Flotex coverings and Knauf ceilings ensure discreet acoustic comfort. Sober, functional furniture provides comfort without ostentation.

Imagination was required to optimize space. The “Beauquis” boat, emblematic of the premises, is the central element of the breakfast area, where the various dishes are presented. Another island on the bar side is dedicated to hot and cold drinks.
