Carefully crafted design, a strong sense of local identity, and a “hygge” atmosphere! In the Bauges Massif, listed as a UNESCO Global Geopark, the restaurant of Auberge d’Aillon et d’Ailleurs opens onto alpine pastures and the village of Aillon-le-Jeune.

For Agence Amevet, in charge of the interior architecture, the challenge was to blend contemporary elegance with the warmth of mountain materials. Set on a single level, the dining area embraces a dual purpose: panoramic openness and a cocooning atmosphere. Natural wood, generous ceiling heights, soft, diffused light… the ambiance gently echoes the hygge spirit, Bauges-style.

Decoration: memory of place and recited signature

The decor is directly inspired by the region: wild Bauges herbs, clean lines and warm tones. Suspended lighting fixtures seem to float, locally sourced objects dot the walls, and a few books and design pieces occupy the niches. The objective is clear: that the decoration should not be an ornament, but a continuation of the experience. It tells the story of the place’s identity, reinforcing emotion, without ever distracting from the essential: gastronomy.

Furniture: just what’s needed, nothing superfluous

The furniture was designed to be warm, ergonomic and suitable for intensive use. Wall-integrated benches, seats upholstered in personalized fabrics, hand-crafted plates, meticulous textures: every element is installed to last. In this modular space, tables can be easily adapted for private functions or groups, without sacrificing the intimate ambience. The contrast between the solidity of the wood and the lightness of the structures creates a balanced atmosphere.

Turnkey service in a unique setting

The restaurant also offers private dining for 16 people in an adjoining lounge. The technical equipment, furnishings and layout have all been designed to ensure that chef Marc GuySeigneur and Raphaëlle GuySeigneur’s team can welcome guests with elegance and fluidity. From the reception area to the table, the interior design, furnishings and decoration all work together to offer a remarkable experience, in keeping with the discreet charm of the Bauges region.
