The special feature of this apartment link in Val d’Isère was the integration of a common-area corridor surface, in agreement with the co-ownership.
These few extra square meters have enabled us to work on the junction between the apartment and the studio.
Now they seem to have always been together.
This new apartment now has a real entrance hall, and a corridor leading to the new master bedroom.
Finally, our interior designers worked on the aesthetic link between the two spaces.
The aim was to create continuity with the existing apartment. It already featured some very fine materials (old wood, stone, lime plaster). These elements were taken up again, and a few original touches were added, notably the creation of a bespoke headboard, made up of different upholstered elements, covered in woollen fabrics, in different shades of grey and ecru.
The aim of this project was to link an existing apartment, which the owner had the opportunity to extend, by acquiring an adjoining studio.
Firstly, our interior designers sought to optimize the new surface area offered by this small duplex studio. Although the organization of the existing apartment was not intended to change, the studio’s volume had to be completely rethought. We had to create a functional coherence between the two spaces.
After a great deal of research, the chosen option for this apartment in Val d’Isère was to create a master suite in the new space, complete with bathroom and plenty of storage space.
For the upper level of this studio, our interior designers chose to create a mezzanine. The mezzanine is accessed by an attractive old wood staircase. This space can be used as a study, relaxation area, reading area or play area for the children…
