“Chez les Cousines”: a new brasserie, simple and welcoming

Designed as a true meeting place, the brasserie Chez les Cousines has established itself as a welcoming address where authenticity and simplicity blend with a refined atmosphere.

With over one hundred indoor seats, the space was designed to offer a warm dining experience, centered around mountain specialties such as fondue and high-quality meats.

Fluidity and contrast

The image of the place was born from a reflection on Op Traken, which is both the name of the company and a sliding technique, characterized by rapid movements of the legs, waves, curves, the radical contrast between the skier and the immaculate snow. These dynamic lines are echoed in the brasserie, and the contrasting hues in the black-and-white bar…

The identity and ambience are based on dark, elegant hues, with a black ceiling adding a touch of intimacy and modernity. The walls are punctuated by deep blue, while the floor, covered in floral flotex, combines aesthetics and functionality thanks to its low-maintenance carpet texture.

A rallying point

Chez les Cousines is more than just a restaurant: it’s a meeting point for locals and visitors alike. Les Gets is a very family-oriented resort, and the opening of this brasserie has strengthened the bond between locals and visitors, creating a dynamic of sharing and exchange.

Agence Amevet worked in close collaboration with the client, and then with the famous “cousins” who run the place, and who are well known in the resort as they run the restaurant Les Copeaux, a local institution! Their objective was to create a simple, warm setting, faithful to the codes of the mountains without falling into the cliché of the traditional chalet.

A challenge successfully met

Open from 8am to 10pm, Chez les Cousines adapts to different times of day.

In the morning, the establishment offers a coffee service, enabling early risers and workers to start the day in a cosy atmosphere. In the afternoon, the place transforms into a gourmet lounge, where visitors can enjoy waffles and crêpes in complete relaxation. At lunchtime and in the evenings, the brasserie rolls out its full menu of Savoyard specialities, featuring quality products and traditional recipes revisited or not!

One of the major challenges was to give the site legitimacy and appeal. This challenge was met on time and on budget.

A flexible, scalable layout

In order to optimize space and offer a high degree of modularity, the choice of furniture – tables and chairs – has been carefully considered, so as to allow easy adaptation to the various departments and to the number of visitors. A large “pro” kitchen and a bar add to the overall ergonomics of the project.

The management team, led by Karine and Nathalie, wanted to add their own finishing touch by adjusting certain elements of the initial project. Modifications were made to the lighting fixtures and furniture, in line with the overall vision defined by Agence Amevet.
