Interior design of a prestige chalet

Agence Amevet was commissioned to carry out the complete fit-out of this newly built chalet in Méribel.
At the time of its acquisition by the client, the chalet was a “shell”: watertight and airtight, but left as raw concrete.

It was in this context that our interior architects stepped in-everything had to be imagined and designed to transform the structure into a true living space.

They therefore handled the entire project design, down to the smallest details, and then oversaw the full construction process to ensure a result fully aligned with the owner’s expectations and high standards.

Secondly, in terms of atmosphere and décor:

  • A “contemporary chalet” atmosphere
  • The integration of decorative elements dear to the owners:
    • Masterly glass chandelier
    • A bench carved from solid wood, a unique piece of furniture that sits in front of a picture window overlooking the mountains.
    • Decorative items

Project objectives

In the early stages of the project, the owner submitted some of these specific expectations to our team:

Firstly, in terms of space organization:

  • A large living room
  • A master-room
  • A wellness area and indoor pool
  • A room dedicated to sport
  • A self-contained apartment
  • Several guest rooms
  • A ski room…

Focus on specific project areas

The living room

Located on the top level, under the roof, this room offers a large open space, with views of the mountains on both the south and north sides.

In this new build, our interior designers have recreated a frame effect from scratch, with beams and false beams, for a very chalet feel!

This living space also offers a very harmonious ambience, thanks to a targeted selection of materials: old wood, rusted metal, leather, stone and glass.

The fireplace is a central element. It’s unique in that it’s gas-fired, guaranteeing comfortable warmth and a beautiful visual effect. Fake ceramic logs give the impression of burning under the flames. A sophisticated system imitates the crackling of flames. Bluffing!

The art of living also takes pride of place in this space, thanks to an aesthetically pleasing, highly functional kitchen. The dining room, surrounded by illuminated glass and bottle cases, and custom-designed wine cellars, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Finally, in terms of equipment :

A great deal of space has been given over to home automation, enabling remote control of equipment: chalet heating, lighting, sauna / hammam operation from the ski slopes, or from abroad…

As a result, our interior designers were able to adapt to the client’s wishes, bringing their creativity and technical expertise to bear.

The Master-room

The bed in this room, with its generous surface area, is custom-designed in old wood. It is set against a partition with a majestic headboard, made of panels sheathed in tinted hide and backlit. Behind this partition is a dressing room. There’s also a beautiful bathroom, with a vanity top in Cenia stone and Mutina tiled walls.

Special attention was also paid to the ceiling of this room, which was finished in old wood, with the creation of false beams to give rhythm to the surface, and the application of plaster in certain areas to give a certain sobriety and recall the wall covering.

Two Tom Dixon pendant lights positioned on either side of the bed are a highlight of the decor. They provide a beautiful light

Wellness area

It features a sauna and hammam. It also features a beautiful indoor swimming pool. As the pool area has no natural daylight, our interior designers came up with a number of special features, including: a large backlit photo, like a window opening onto nature; a ceiling dotted with small LED lights; and two holes in the ceiling slab creating skylights.

A fitness room

Dedicated to sports, this room integrates a wide range of equipment. To enhance the sense of space, the walls are clad with mirrors, and the doors are glazed and decorated with graphic vitrophanies.
At the far end of this room, folding panels conceal the massage/yoga room. As the owners practice hot yoga, radiant panels were placed under the ceiling. They enable a temperature of 40° to be reached in the room.

A self-contained apartment

This space comprises a living room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
The special feature of this living space is the kitchen area. This can be completely concealed behind leather-clad doors.
