A contemporary chalet with warm and refined accents

Renovation of Chalet “Sutri” Les Deux-Alpes

Our interior architects were commissioned to design the layout and decoration of a chalet under construction in Les Deux-Alpes, Isère.

Particular attention was paid to lighting. A few key features stand out:

  • Two voluminous felt hangers above the dining table
  • Slim marble pendants above the kitchen bar
  • Delta Light sconces. Their light beams create an animation around the majestic wooden deer head.
  • A playful cloud-shaped suspension brings life to the high ceiling on the fireplace side.
  • Integration of LED cords to sculpt space (e.g. at the back of bookcases, on stairwell wall edges…).

For the renovation of the “Sutri” Chalet in Les Deux-Alpes, the owners called on Agence Amevet to optimize the interior layout:

  • Volume organization
  • Organization of traffic flows
  • Space structuring
  • Surface optimization
  • Creation of specific zones such as wellness areas, offices, suites, etc.
  • parental…

Our interior designers then worked on defining the ambience.

They carried out research based on a few images suggested by the clients. Their aim was to create a very mountainous ambience, yet one that remained subtle and contemporary.

The idea was to create a warm, welcoming space that would break away from the owners’ usual urban environment.

We also needed to make reference to their Italian roots. This gives them a particular sensitivity to beautiful materials, lines and design.

To create this universe, we used a lot of old wood, stone and glass. The use of these materials, which are fairly traditional for the mountains, was enhanced by a few notes of originality and detail.

Special attention to lighting

Here are a few highlights:

  • Two voluminous felt hangers above the dining table
  • Slim marble pendants above the kitchen bar
  • Delta Light sconces. Their light beams create an animation around the majestic wooden stag head.
  • A playful cloud-shaped suspension brings life to the high ceiling on the fireplace side.
  • Integration of LED cords to sculpt space (e.g. at the back of bookcases, on stairwell wall edges…).

Each living space has also been the subject of a specific approach

The show is designed to be very convivial. Two comfortable sofas upholstered in rust velvet fabric add a touch of pep. A bespoke bookcase is particularly original, with panels of tinted cowhide (black and pearly white) at the back of the niches.

The living area is very open. It is organized around a beautiful fireplace, which has the particularity of having an open hearth on two sides, and a different mantel on each of its two sides.

This space benefits from an abundance of light, thanks in particular to a double-height bay window covered with a woollen curtain. It is also open to the access to the upper floors, with an emphasis on the beautiful, light wooden staircase (glass balustrade, absence of risers, installation of small spotlights).

The kitchen is sober

Our agency designed it in anthracite-gray laminate panels. This sobriety highlights a bar (clad in stained cowhide panels), as well as three Diesel stools upholstered in leather and metal studs.

The dining area also features an original table: the clients insisted on a base made of large sections of wood. We designed it, and had a stone top created, with a bush-hammered effect, which also benefits from a special treatment to prevent it from absorbing stains.

Each room is distinguished by its own headboard, and a specific selection of Arpin fabrics.
