Between lake and mountains, a harmonious renewal

Renovation of Hôtel L’Arcalod in Doussard

Located in Doussard, near Lake Annecy, Hôtel L’Arcalod has been a family-run establishment since its beginnings. Today, a new generation has taken the helm, eager to leave its own mark.

It is within this evolution that the interior architects of Agence Amevet became involved. In the first phase of the project (with others to follow), the objective was to renovate the common areas: the welcome zones, reception, and bar.

For the mountain feel, our interior designers used wood in a variety of finishes. Rough finishes, as in one of the highlights of the project: the reception desk and bar are made from sections of logs, assembled and punctuated by metal sections.

Much more contemporary finishes, with the use of sleek partition screens, but also Laudescher panels featuring alternating wood slats and hollows in an acoustic finish, ideal for a library area.

The entire hotel project was designed by our interior architects in a timeless style, subtly enhanced by a few design touches.

The existing spaces have been completely reorganized and redesigned, to redefine the different hubs and improve traffic flow between them.

The reception desk is connected to the bar area, making it easy to welcome guests. A lounge area is also available in the veranda, offering a very cosy ambience, with a view of the gardens and swimming pool. Another space for conviviality or relaxation is the library and wi-fi corner, featuring high-contrast colors, soft lighting and acoustically enhanced materials.

The ambience of the project was built around the lake and mountain theme, dear to the owners.

For the lake side, we chose shades of blue and gray, transparency thanks to the veranda, and lightness, particularly in the choice of hanging lights.
