Creation of the Brick House bistro

In August 2018, Agence Amevet moved near the Phare into a new building « LE BRICK HOUSE » located in a developing business district of Chambéry.
It was upon settling into this building that Pierre-François Amevet began a collaboration with Joris Bernard-Lathoud, a young restaurateur whose ambition was to create his own business.

This project gave Agence Amevet’s interior architects a blank slate in which to create a warm, friendly and contemporary space, with the ambition of showcasing Joris Bernard-Lathoud’s catering approach, dedicated to local and terroir products.
This is why our interior architects focused first and foremost on structuring the volumes: several zones emerge thanks to a platform, metal structures and a large bench, set against custom-made furniture reminiscent of old tradesmen’s furniture. Circulation between these different zones is fluid, giving customers a feeling of comfort and of being in THE best seat in the restaurant.

Like Agence Amevet, Joris Bernard-Lathoud was attracted by the building’s strong identity, with its red brickwork evoking a New York style. It was the ideal place to bring to life an intention that was close to his heart for this project: to continue the story of his ancestors, who once ran a bistro in Chambéry.
As if by evidence, making the link between his family history, the location and the desire to create a project, the BBH or Bistrot du Brick House was born!

Another key element in the organization of this space is the bar. Located between the two kitchen entrances (entrance/exit), it plays a “technical” role in the organization of service. But it also ensures the conviviality of the space: custom-designed in metal structure, it showcases a very fine selection of wine and champagne bottles.
For the decoration and design of the space, our interior architects chose to recall the brickwork of the exterior, combining it with old wood and metal. Light is enhanced by beautiful chandeliers, and acoustics are given particular attention thanks to special tiles, some in metal, to break up the uniformity of the ceiling treatment.
